Don Bomar- My wife Brenda and I live and work in Carlsbad. I am an
insurance agent for Farmers Insurance Group and my wife
is a real estate agent for Century 21 Award. We are
"empty nesters" and live with two Persian cats, "Ebony and
Taz" and a Pomeranian named "Foxy".
My passion is fishing as I own a 25' Pursuit center
console boat which is slipped at Sea World Marina. On the
days I am not working or fishing I am out playing golf.
My wife and I take frequent vacations in Mazatlan, Mexico,
and enjoy cruises in the Caribbean.
As a new member I am learning a great deal about boating
and enjoy the fellowship of other members. I am currently
in Boat Crew Training and will soon be offering my vessel as an
Operational Facility for the Flotilla. |

John Ryan - John Ryan moved to San Diego from Philadelphia last October and has recently joined our flottila. He is an International Yacht Broker and works for WME Yachts. His listings take him all over the United States, Canada and Europe. He also has a consulting practice for international marketing and development with an emphasis on Asia. He previously worked as Chief Marketing Officer for ACE Insurance a large multiline property casualty carrier with global brands.
He lives downtown at the Horizons and is looking forward to participating in the flottila activities. |

Robert Vik - I am interested in boating and seamanship and, to be more specific,
sailing. I have cruised with friends to Catalina and Ensenada and
currently I rent boats from the Navy Sailing Center. Through the Navy I
have taken all of their courses up through advanced and passed their
exam on the COLLREGS and coastal navigation. Navigation is an interest
of mine and at one time I knew how to use a Sextant. Celestial
Navigation is a skill I am hoping to relearn in the near future. I am
also interested in Maritime history and was fortunate to be a member of
the sailing crew on the Star of India twice.
The final item on this
rather all inclusive list of my interests is Naval Architecture. I am
an engineer and am naturally drawn to the engineering aspects of boats
and ships including construction methods, hull strength, propulsion, and
stability. |

Stanley Valeski - As to qualifications, I am currently REYR as crewman as I was unable to do the annual requalification tasks last year. I did have enough underway hours. In the past I have been a Partner Visitor and PATON Qualified but, thanks to some inept record keeping, I don't know where I stand. I am also an AUXOP
I joined the Auxiliary in 1991 and became crew qualified in 1993. Being a RV-type, I spend my winters in Boulder City and summers in Pacific Beach so I am available from 01APR thru 30SEP. My primary interest is patrols but I have also done partner visits, ATON/PATON verifications an PA work at boat show and other events.
